Solving a Critical Waterproofing Challenge
HOW IT WORKSLarge-format windows and scenic door systems demand secure mechanical attachment to the structure. Traditionally, fastening through the bottom track often means penetrating the primary waterproofing layer, creating a potential point of failure. Especially on second-story buildings where water penetration could be catastrophic to the rooms below.
The J&S Solutions Sub Sill provides a dedicated fastening surface above the primary waterproofing assembly, allowing the window or door system to be securely anchored without compromising the waterproofing pan below.
The result is a cleaner installation detail, improved long-term durability, and greater confidence in high-exposure applications.

Uneven threshholds common in real-world door frame installations are easy to solve with the J&S Solutions adjustable shim system. For each 6-in. section of sub-sill, we provide 4 shims in the box, ensuring you’re ready to overcome any jobsite challenge.

Independently Tested for Performance
Performance matters.
Our aluminum sub sill has been independently evaluated by an accredited testing laboratory as part of a complete window installation assembly. During testing, the addition of the J&S component doubled the tested Design Pressure (DP) performance from DP-15 to DP-30, demonstrating the measurable benefits of integrating the J&S Solutions Sub Sill into the overall installation.
We continue to work with manufacturers and design professionals to validate performance across additional window and door systems.
Testing results are based on the specific assemblies evaluated. Performance may vary depending on the complete system configuration.
